A light installation within the Luci d’Artista exhibition in the city of Turin.

Lantern

2025

Design&People

In the avenues of To Dream Urban District, a site-specific installation by Graphic Days® has come to life: a suspended scenography that reinterprets the archetype of the lantern, promoting an immersive and dreamlike experience between color and light.

The project is carried out in collaboration with Quattrolinee and produced by Docks Groups, with the support of To Dream, and is part of the Luminarie di Luci d’Artista circuit.

The concept

Based on a very simple physical principle, the lantern carries with it legends from Eastern culture and ancient meanings widespread in many traditions; it is an element that guides, protects, and connects people, becoming a symbol of liberation and hope for the future.

The light installation is created using interlocking modular polycarbonate elements, produced by Docks and Dockers, which form a multifunctional landscape. The aerial component is flanked by seating that creates new spaces for rest and socializing.

Luci d’Artista

Every year during the winter, Turin transforms into an open-air laboratory of light installations by leading Italian and international artists.

Luci d’Artista was created in 1998 by the City of Turin to bring artistic expression to the streets, squares, and buildings, reaching the general public and creating a collection of public art.

The Lanterna project, curated by Graphic Days® for To Dream Urban District, is part of the Luminarie circuit, which brings together lights created through private initiatives.
