Thonik is an Amsterdam based collective of designers, led by designers Nikki Gonnissen and Thomas Widdershoven. The studio creates design that is socially relevant, graphically strong and flexible in its application. A strategic approach is married to innovative use of media, putting digital first.
\nClients include Hyundai Department Stores (Seoul), Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Power Station of Art in Shanghai, Manifesta 9, the City of Amsterdam, Museum Marta Herford in Germany, the Architecture Biennale Venice, the Holland Festival in Amsterdam, the Dutch broadcasting network VPRO and the Dutch Socialist Party (SP).
\nSolo exhibitions of Thonik\u2019s work have been staged at the Power Station of Art in Shanghai, the Venice Architecture Biennale, Spiral Art Center Tokyo, MOTI Breda, Galerie Anatome (Paris) and the Institut N\u00e9erlandais in Paris. Works by thonik are in the permanent collection of museums such as the Centre George Pompidou in Paris.<\/p>\n
Roy Terhorst is a senior designer at Thonik and is specialised in graphic design and motion design. He likes to extract a subject straight to its essence.
